Lionsgate hires to rewrite “western Naruto”- Naruto x Boruto: Borutage
It seems that the western adaptation of Naruto in theatres already has defined names to rewrite the script. According to The Hollywood Reporter, brothers Jon and Erich Hoeber, who wrote Red and Red 2, will make the new version of the plot.
The film with real actors will be produced by Lionsgate and will be directed by Michael Gracey (The Greatest Showman). The creator of the original work, Masashi Kishimoto, will also be involved in the production.
By 2015, Tracking Board Hollywood said Lionsgate had gotten the rights to make a Naruto movie with Gracey on the road. At the time, the site also revealed that Avi Arad (Ghost in the Shell) and son Ari Arad are producing the film, with Erik Feig, Geoff Shaveitz and Kelly O’Malley in supervision.
The Hollywood adaptation of Naruto has not yet been previewed.
