LA Noire finally in the PC test! The Mystery Adventure is now available for Xbox 360 and PS3 under the title LA Noire: The Complete Edition for Windows Computing. In the test of LA Noire: The Complete Edition we will tell you where the differences to the console versions lie and whether Rockstar Games has made significant improvements. Before the show, LA Noire was one of the most exciting gaming projects of the year. But is it also one of the best? In our following LA Noire: The Complete Edition, we reveal it to you.
Our test of LA Noire is divided into two sides. On the first page, we reveal the positive aspects of the game, while on the second page, we highlight the negative aspects of the criminal epic around Detective Cole Phelps. You will also find the evaluation and conclusion on the second page. An interactive graphic comparison of LA Noire with minimum and maximum details can be found under the link, a complete solution to LA.
Positive aspects of the PC version
The PC version of LA Noire contains all the DLC contents of the console editions, so it can be decorated with the subtitle “The Complete Edition”. Included are “The Consoles Carriage”, “The Naked City”, “Nicholson Galvanization”, “Kifferwahnsinn” and “False Papers”. Also included are two additional hero outfits and the machine gun “Chicago Piano.” Added to this are some comfort functions.
The size of the HUD displays can be set in the LA Noire option menu. If you are looking for clues, use an optional miniature magnifying glass. In addition, the graphics settings can now be adjusted finer than on Xbox 360 or PS3 – no comparison to Rage and Crysis 2.
Grandiose Crime Atmosphere Reaching to Hollywood Movies
LA Noire is a film, from cinematic intersections to fabulous dialogues to countless authentic details actually like a damn good interactive thriller. Also absolutely memorable: the characters. Whether it is a secondary character or a central hero, each person has their own motivations, their own strengths, and weaknesses, their own personal story. Whoever has always wanted to be a part of a Humphrey-Bogart classic, finds the best possible alternative here.
Exciting, smart, refreshingly different detective gameplay
LA Noire is basically a pure-bred adventure – the action passages account for just one-third of the game and only act as a link between crime scenes and interrogation. But this is by no means a broken leg because the detective main elements are all gripping and innovative. The sequence of the total of 21 story cases always follows the same pattern: You first check to the place of the crime (alternatively, your AI partner can drive or you skip the long journey!). Once there, you are looking for clues and proofs – sometimes the mere appearance of an object, sometimes you have to rotate it and look at certain details.
A thrilling, thrilling thriller story for adults
Even though the action revolves around the rise of police officer Cole Phelps from the beginner to the super-cop, one quickly realizes that there is more behind LA Noire. And so finally, a total of three story sequences end in a conclusive, if somewhat predictable, final. The great thing about it: The developers have renounced silly and unrealistic sensationalism! Instead, the themes of murder, treason, morality, and bribery are dealt with in an adult way.
