In Star Wars: Battlefront 2 everything gets bigger and we finally get a singleplayer campaign as well as space battles. The new Star Wars title was unveiled at the Star Wars Celebration in Orlando, Florida, and has pledged to fulfill all the open wishes of its predecessor. We have all the details and data for you – and the release date: November 17, 2017.
Even before the leaks of the short teaser trailer, it was clear that Star Wars: Battlefront 2 would be unveiled at the Star Wars Celebration. It was also clear, that it would look excellent, but the graphics did not have anything wrong with the predecessor. The complete trailer is actually just an extension of the leaked part with a few more details. More exciting was in comparison a Behind-the-Scenes-Video, which was shown on the press-date and has everything underlined with more background. In general, the new Battlefront of course was expected some things hot and Electronic Arts and DICE have directly emphasized on the Celebration that we should get exactly what was most in demand. Battlefront 2 brings finally real space battles and a singleplayer campaign.
A total of three studios were required to support this. DICE brings back its experience with multiplayer shooters and the first-look moving images of the Frostbite 3 engine and provides the core of the title with “traditional” battlefields, even if some changes are planned for the first part. Criterion, which has already been used for the X-Wing VR mission for PlayStation VR, are fighting the space battles because of their experience with “the feeling of speed and catchy handling” – the Burnout and Need for Speed knowledge should pay off here. Last but not least, Motive Studios takes the singleplayer campaign, a hopefully good decision, but the quite young studio has a series of action veterans from Ubisoft and Valve in its ranks. So much for a great overview; We come to the details.
Above all, the B1-Droide is a proof and a placeholder for the fact that not all figures have to be biologically. The age of the droids has come – and even if no one wanted to determine on demand, it means that there will be different models from several epochs. Even with the Alienspecies the developers remain vague, but there will be new ones. The other way around, not all “vehicles” need to be machines that are already in the leaked trailer visible Tauntauns are definitely in play and rideable.
