As publisher peppermint anime yesterday announced via facebook, they secured the license on the anime film Mary and the Witch’s Flower.

OmU trailer for Mary and the Witch’s Flower:

Hana Sugisaki, who already played the role of Sayaka in “Memoirs to Marnie” (Japanese: Omoide no Marnie), speaks the role of Mary. The film by Studio Ponoc was produced by Hiromasa Yonebayashi, who already produced Studio Ghibli’s Arrietty and Memoirs to Marnie, and wrote the script for Isao Takahata’s The Legend of the Princess Kaguya. Takatsugu Muramatsu (Memories of Marnie) took care of the musical background of the film.

Yoshiaki Nishimura, the producer who founded Studio Ponoc in April 2015, borrowed the name of his studio from the Croatian – Ponoc means midnight in Croatian. He and Yonebayashi left Studio Ghibli in 2014 and worked together on Studio Ponoc’s first film: Mary and the Witch’s Flower.
