Horizon Zero Dawn – “The Frozen Wilds, Zelda & Co. Prove That The Single Player Is Lived”
Developer Guerrilla Games believes that Horizon Zero Dawn proves that even pure singleplayer games still have a chance.
In an interview with GameSpot , game designer Tim Stobo talks about the upcoming expansion The Frozen Wilds for Horizon Zero Dawn . He also positions himself in the debate about the future of large single-player games , which has recently come from the closure of the developer Visceral Games by EA.
“I think Horizon proves that there is a future for high quality single-player experiences, Frozen Wilds proves it again […] It looks like there are some changes in other parts of the industry, but we’re focusing on Guerrilla just to tell great stories. ”

Even if the singleplayer will not completely disappear, it clearly shows a shift in priority towards multiplayer and games as a service.
“I think we’ll see more games like Destiny […] but if you look at the best, most acclaimed games of the year, you’ll see Horizon, Zelda and Shadow of War, and there are a lot of great singleplayer experiences. If we get more online games that’s good for diversity, I think. ”
With Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus , Assassin’s Creed: Origins and Super Mario Odyssey , the list of high-profile single-player games is now once again expanding to include some high-profile titles.
Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds will be released exclusively for the PS4 and PS4 Pro on November 7th .
