In a few days AMD will officially introduce the Radeon RX Vega. In Sweden, an alleged Vega price has now been leaked, which even surprised the dealers.
The previous benchmark results for the AMD Radeon RX Vega are not official, but suggest that at least a model of the graphics card will be about as fast as an Nvidia Geforce GTX 1080 . Whether it is the slowest or fastest Vega model, is still not clear.
The Swedish website Nordic Hardware now reports that the planned price of the AMD Radeon RX Vega has been leased by distributors. The graphics card is therefore about 7,000 Swedish krones cost – however, this is only the purchase price for the dealer, which also does not include VAT.
The source of Nordic Hardware claims that this is the final price, which would be around 730 euros converted. Even without a dealer profit margin, the price would thus be around 870 euros including multi-tax and thus almost exactly the same as the price, for which is currently a Geforce GTX 1080 Ti in the trade.
According to Nordic Hardware, even Swedish retailers are of the opinion that this price is “wrong” for the AMD Radeon RX Vega. At least the past information does not indicate that the Radeon RX Vega in terms of performance can actually unlock a Geforce GTX 1080 Ti.
In addition, AMD is actually known to offer its graphics cards with similar performance more favorable than the competitor. There are therefore some reasons to doubt the price information from Sweden. Since AMD will present the Radeon RX Vega in just a few days at the graphic exhibition Siggraph (from July 30th) and then probably synonymous the price, it will not be long before, even in this point clarity prevails.
